United Spirits shares top Rs 1700 on Diageo deal, brokerages upgrade

NEW DELHI: United Spirits Ltd surged over 27 per cent in trade on Monday after Diageo Plc said that it will acquire 53.4 per cent stake in the company for Rs 11,166.5 crore in a multi-structured deal. At 11:40 am, the stock came off from intra-day highs and was trading 25 per cent higher at Rs 1,700.10. It hit a 52-week high of Rs 1,730.65 and a low of Rs 1,375.55 in trade today on the Bombay stock Exchange. UK-based firm entered into an agreement with United Breweries (Holdings)...
