Carpenter Walter Olszewski is seeing more familiar faces these days, and he's happy about it. "We've brought a lot of the young guys back," he says, taking a break inside a big house under construction in Chesterfield. "A lot of the young guys I worked with have been out of work for two years and more. They're just getting back into it." Olszewski works for McBride & Son, the region's largest builder. In the depth of the housing bust, McBride cut his staff to 250 carpenters. Now, it's up to 400 and adding more.
