Matthew Fox Says He Was Embarrassed By DUI
Oct 21st 2012, 06:00

Posted: October 21, 2012 Matthew Fox said he is embarrassed by his actions in the past 18 months, when he was arrested for a DUI and allegedly got into a fight with a female bus driver. In an interview with Ellen DeGeneres, the Lost alum said that it’s been a difficult year. “There’s been some negative things written about me and said about me in the last year,” Matthew Fox said. “There is a woman in Cleveland who that claims that I hit her. . . I think she specifically says that I hit her in private parts of her body, actually.” Fox, who appears in the Tyler Perry movie Alex Cross, denied the claims that he hit the woman while filming the movie last year...

Autoworkers earning less in U.S. happy to compete globally
Oct 21st 2012, 06:03

By Jeff Green and Keith Naughton Bloomberg News Comments Debbie Werner is the face of an American workers' revolution. In a break with decades of U.S. auto-union tradition, the prevailing wage paid to new unionized autoworkers is less than that of the average laborer producing items ranging from metal and wood products to food and beverages. Werner has lived through it all: She joined General Motors Corp. in 2008 before its bankruptcy, lost her job when the factory closed and then was rehired in 2011 when it opened again after the bailout â€" joining thousands of new workers earning about half what autoworkers were paid before 2007 and without traditional pensions and retiree health care....

‘Paranormal Activity 4′: Critics Say It’s Scary But Formulaic
Oct 21st 2012, 06:18

Posted: October 21, 2012 Paranormal Activity 4 follows the tried-and-true formula of the previous three installments — a family terrorized at night be unseen forces, all captured on night-vision video — but critics say nonetheless it packs a mighty scare. As People noted, it may not be as disturbing as the other installments, which in a way have already conditioned audiences to the kind of bump-in-the-night surprises they now expect, but Paranormal Activity 4 is “still quite scary.” Paranormal Activity 4 starts with a refresher for audience members who may not remember the end of the second movie. A possessed Katie is missing and has kidnapped her baby nephew, Hunter....

Dallas Comic Con Fan Days review: Where a geek can be a geek
Oct 21st 2012, 06:25

"Did you see the girl in the Leia Slave Girl outfit?" one guy asked to the man dressed as Darth Vader. "She's my girlfriend," Vader replied. "She keeps telling people she has daddy issues." Where else but a comic convention would you see such an exchange? Where else would you see multiple people dressed as Barf from Space Balls? When wandering around the convention floor of Dallas Comic Con Fan Days at the Irving Convention Center, I saw more than just Batman and Spider-Man. In fact, I probably saw a much larger representation of more niche areas...

Movie Scoreboard: 'Argo,' 'Middle of Nowhere,' 'Paranormal Activity 4'
Oct 21st 2012, 06:27

"Alex Cross" * * Freely adapted from the work of best-selling novelist James Patterson, this crime drama finds Tyler Perry playing crafy homicide detective Alex Cross and Matthew Fox playing the smart torture-killer he's pursuing. Director Rob Cohen and company spent a couple of weeks in Detroit to work on a few eye-popping scenes, but most of the movie was shot in Cleveland. Perry's Cross is cocky, prone to revenge and far less interesting than the older version of the character played in two previous films by Morgan Freeman. Cohen pays more attention to...

13 Nights of Zombies: Night 3, They've retuned to party!
Oct 21st 2012, 06:32

Related topics zombies Advertisement Question, what do you get when you have a group of rowdy teens and a cemetery surrounded by the living dead who've come not to party? The answer is the 1985 classic black comedy horror film Return of the Living Dead, and we'll also throw in the sequel to this film titled Return of the Living Dead Part II. Though many write this film off as a gross parody of the Romero classic Night of the Living Dead, this film stands on its own for being yet another pioneering effort in the right direction for the zombie genre. Not to mention Return was a large box office success, and has a very large cult following behind it. The film tells the story of a group of rowdy...

Checkdown: Kansas State, Florida, Oregon all serious threats to Alabama
Oct 21st 2012, 06:44

We're sure it would be possible for No. 1 Alabama to look even more perfect than it did Saturday night in Knoxville, Tenn. Mind you, we can't imagine how. If we could, maybe we'd have a better understanding of what makes Nick Saban tick. The Tide (7-0, 4-0 SEC) destroyed Tennessee 44-13, outgaining the Vols 535 yards to 282 in an effort so balanced, so workmanlike and so destructive that there's zero question Saban's team is stronger than it was last year at this point. But here's the thing about all that. The teams chasing the Tide are stronger than most anyone could've imagined, too. Show of hands if you saw that 44-11 score in Gainesville coming. Or—did it really happen?—that 55-14 score...

In the FCS Huddle: Cal Poly can't be overlooked any longer
Oct 21st 2012, 06:50

— It may seem Cal Poly football operates in the witness protection program. The Mustangs often have some of the latest kickoff times on a typical FCS Saturday. They are playing their first season in the Big Sky Conference with likely the conference's easiest schedule. They run the always unfamiliar triple option. Even the exotic-named San Luis Obispo, where their campus is located just inside the Pacific Coast about midway between Los Angeles and San Francisco, offers an arduous trip for visiting opponents. Yet while you were sleeping, Cal Poly has been one of the bigger surprises this season - one of two remaining unbeaten teams in the FCS....
