Visitors to Santa Fe Plaza are set to be entranced on New Year’s Eve from 5:30 to 6 p.m. by the 22nd annual The Hospice Center ‘Light Up a Life’ Celebration. For this event the organization sells 100’s of traditional farolitos (a farolito is a small paper lantern — commonly a candle set in some sand inside a paper bag which is of significance in New Mexico at Christmas time and New Years Eve) with sales proceeds dedicated to providing hospice care in the Santa Fe, NM, community.
