CarMax is gearing up for its St. Louis debut, and analysts expect its arrival to reshape the local used-car landscape. CarMax, the nation's largest used-car retailer with 116 locations, has overlooked the St. Louis area since its founding in 1993. Its only Missouri location is in Independence. With $10 billion in annual sales, the company that operates used-car "superstores" has now identified St. Louis as a growth market, and several stores are in the pipeline.
