By Tom Long Detroit News Film Critic Comments Pascal Elbe and Emmanuelle Devos are the Israeli parents in Â"The Other Son.Â" (Cohen Media) Switched at birth stories seem contrived right from the get-go. I mean, seriously? But "The Other Son" manages to be so straightforward, and so otherwise preoccupied, that its switched-at-birth premise is nearly forgotten. Of course, the fact that there's absolutely nothing to laugh about here helps offset the laughable situation. Because, in this case, a Jewish baby is sent home with a Palestinian family; and a Palestinian boy goes home to Israeli parents.
