O'FALLON, Mo. • The Kennedy softball team had Monday's date circled on its calendar ever since Sept. 5. On that day, the Celts lost to O'Fallon Christian 7-0 at home. The rematch was Monday afternoon at the O'Fallon Elks Lodge and Kennedy was ready. Behind some early scoring, some fantastic defense and an outstanding pitching performance by freshman Amanda Cabrera, the Celts earned a 3-1 Archdiocesan Athletic Association small-division victory. Kennedy, which is the No. 4 team in the STLhighschoolsports.com small-schools rankings, improved to 12-2 overall and 3-1 in league play with its sixth straight victory.
