Rivers Edge Elementary School in Glen Allen would like to send a message to other elementary schools concerning this year's Short Pump Mile race: Bring it on. Rivers Edge had about 120 students at the Short Pump Mile and Express Fun Run last year, taking the top prize for participation by area elementary schools and earning $600 to spend on exercise equipment and programs.
