An ethics complaint filed with the U.S. Attorney’s Office by Tuskegee Mayor Johnny Ford alleges that Alabama Attorney Gen. Luther Strange received more than $100,000 in illegal campaign contributions from Porch Creek Indian casinos in Montgomery and Wetumpka. According to the Opelika-Auburn News, Ford said Strange has used his office to keep VictoryLand casino in Shorter from reopening. VictoryLand casino was closed in 2010, along with Dothan’s Country Crossing after the legality of electronic bingo machines at the facilities was challenged.
