Junior forward Dwight Powell poured in a career-high 27 points to lead Stanford over USF 74-62 in the teams' season opener at Oracle Arena on Friday night. The Cardinal got a scare, though, as twice in the final 7:09, Powell seemed to sustain a leg injury. The second time came with 1:35 to go.
