Although San Antonio's jobless numbers rose a bit in July, the metropolitan area still is in a growth pattern, albeit at a snail's pace. The area's seasonally adjusted jobless rate ticked up last month to 6.8 percent, up from 6.7 percent in June, the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas reported Friday. But Keith Phillips, senior economic policy adviser at the Fed's San Antonio branch, said he "wouldn't put a lot of weight" on the monthly number.
