The Paul Robeson Performing Arts Company quietly faded from Syracuse’s theater scene over the last two years. There were the occasional musical or theatrical programs as reminders of its one-time prominence as a presenter of predominantly African-American productions. Beset with challenges when its financial and administrative ties with Syracuse University were severed, a leadership transition was in the works and the economy was faltering, it was difficult for the theater company to reorganize.
