Cabrera disagreed with the call while batting in the fourth, but was tossed when he emerged from the Tigers' dugout an out after hitting into a double play. Third-base coach Gene Lamont also was tossed by plate umpire Tim Timmons, who took over behind the plate when Jeff Kellogg left the game after being rocked by a foul ball in the second inning.
