Tigers slugger Miguel Cabrera ejected for arguing strike call

By Tom Gage The Detroit News Comments Anaheim, Calif. â€" With the Tigers trailing the Angels, 5-1, in the fourth inning Saturday night, Miguel Cabrera was ejected for a dispute about a called strike. Cabrera disagreed with the call while batting in the fourth, but was tossed when he emerged from the Tigers' dugout an out after hitting into a double play. Third-base coach Gene Lamont also was tossed by plate umpire Tim Timmons, who took over behind the plate when Jeff Kellogg left the game after being rocked by a foul ball in the second inning. Not only had Cabrera been ejected by the time the fifth inning rolled around, but Justin Verlander had allowed six runs on eight hits. The Angels...
