Creators of 'Dallas' prepared for some big changes in the prime-time soap's upcoming second season

"Dallas" without J.R. Ewing, it turns out, is like the grocery snack aisle without Twinkies. Somehow, it will still be there. The second season of the reborn "Dallas" premieres Monday (TNT, 9 p.m.) in the shadow of a real-life bad thing. On Nov. 23, after filming five episodes of the new season, actor Larry Hagman died -- taking with him J.R. Ewing, one of the oiliest villains in soap-opera history. Hagman created J.R. for the original "Dallas" in 1978, and J.R. spent the next 14 seasons...
