By David Shepardson Detroit News Washington Bureau Comments Washington â" The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration said Friday it is opening two new investigations into Honda Pilot SUVs for improper involuntary braking and Hyundai Santa Fe SUVs for faulty steering columns. NHTSA said it is granting a petition filed in April to investigate 87,000 2005 Honda Pilot SUVs for unexpected vehicle deceleration or steering pull resulting from inappropriate electronic brake application.
