Just like Cujo became the quintessential "killer dog", Christine is the automotive equivalent. The book focuses on three characters: Dennis, Arnie, and Leigh. Dennis acts as the protagonist and narrator for a majority of the novel. He is Arnie's best friend who gets roped into a dilemma when Arnie buys an old junker that has a nefarious agenda of its own. A lot of Stephen King's works are seen as metaphors for addiction, the works most cited for this are "Misery" and "The Tommyknockers", I'm surprised that this isn't included in that list...
