MIAMI — Yasmani Grandal's three-run triple Friday night in Miami was the first by a catcher in the major leagues this season and only the third in the history of the Padres. According to the Elias Sports Bureau, Fred Kendall did it first in 1974 and Benito Santiago did it in 1989. Major league catchers have hit only four, bases-loaded triples over the past five seasons.
