SAN YSIDRO From humble adobes to regal palaces, 70 edible edifices were displayed last week during the eighth annual Holiday Gingerbread House Competition at San Ysidro Adult School. Clad in white chef jackets and toques, the confectionery competitors — all students of the school's culinary arts pastry program — stood by their sweet work to answer questions from the visiting public.
