The Long Island Philharmonic has extended the contract of its music director, David Stewart Wiley, through 2015. Tuesday's announcement all but ensures that the financially troubled Philharmonic will continue for at least three more years. "We've stabilized things," Philharmonic president Jack said Tuesday. "We're hopeful about some grants we've applied for that will enable us to add two concerts -- one in the winter and one next spring. Our success in matching the grants will determine how soon we'll be able to go back to a subscription season."
