Padres announcer Jerry Coleman Former Governor Pete Wilson Jerry Coleman and Pete Wilson made their mark in two different arenas. Coleman, 87, excelled on and off the baseball diamond as a player and a broadcaster. Wilson, 79, had a distinguished political career, serving as California's governor, a U.S. senator, San Diego's mayor and a state assemblyman. The pair's achievements in athletics and politics are well known. They have one tie: service to their country in the Marine Corps. For that, and for a lifetime of patriotism and personal sacrifice to the nation, Coleman and Wilson will be honored tonight with the Midway American Patriot Award at a black-tie event...
